Homeward Bound Adirondacks invites all veterans to join us for a peer-to-peer winter hike/snowshoe on Thursday, January 1, 2026, at the SUNY ESF Adirondack Interpretive Center (AIC) in Newcomb.
5922 NY-28N, Newcomb, NY 12852
We’ll be exploring the Peninsula Snowshoe Loop — a moderate ~2–3 mile route featuring rolling terrain, deep forest, and beautiful views of Rich Lake. Trails at the AIC are free to access and open for snowshoeing in winter.
Weather will decide! Please come prepared with:
– Winter boots
– Microspikes/traction (if conditions warrant them)
– Snowshoes (recommended if there is snow coverage)
Check the local weather here:
After our outing, we’ll warm up with hot chocolate and snacks at the AIC. If the AIC is open we will spend some time exploring what they have to offer
Kick off your New Year with community, connection, and the beauty of the Adirondacks.
