Strand Center for the Arts hosts HBA Vets

December 20, 2024

We are so grateful for our friends at The Strand Center for the Arts in Plattsburgh! This week, three groups of veterans from Homeward Bound Adirondacks had the incredible opportunity to get creative in The Strand’s MakerSpace. Veterans crafted beautiful, custom gifts using the Fusion Edge Epilog Laser – just in time for the holidays! Thank you to The Strand Center for hosting us and to the Clinton County Legislature for making this experience possible for our veterans.

The VetsAid team has selected Homeward Bound Adirondacks as one of the VetsAid 2024 Community Grantees! Homeward Bound Adirondacks is deeply honored and grateful to be selected as a grantee, as this support helps further our mission of empowering veterans in Northern New York through community and nature-based healing.
Joe Walsh’s VetsAid is returning in 2024 for its eighth edition, set to take place on November 11, Veterans Day, at the UBS Arena in Belmont Park, New York. This year’s concert will feature an exciting lineup, including full performances from Eric Church, Toto, Kool & the Gang, and Walsh himself. Post Malone will also join the show for a special collaboration with Walsh during the finale. The event is designed to appeal to a wide range of musical tastes, offering a mix of country, rock, funk, and pop, making it accessible for fans of all genres. VetsAid, founded by Walsh in 2017, has raised over $3.5 million to support veterans and their families, with proceeds from each year’s concert going to local veteran service organizations. This year, organizations from New York and New Jersey will benefit from the funds raised. The 2024 event marks a return to the East Coast for the first time since the inaugural show, and it holds special significance for Walsh’s wife, Marjorie, who is from Queens, making it a homecoming of sorts for the Walsh family.
