Homeward Bound Adirondacks will receive sealed bids for the proposed construction of a Utility Building to be undertaken at the Homeward Bound Adirondacks Retreat Site, 12801 State Rt. 30, Malone, NY. The project generally consists of ground preparation, construction of the building to include and not limited to foundation installation, wood framing, insulation, siding, doors, windows, pre-engineered roof trusses, roof system, in-slab hydronic heat system, ventilation system, plumbing and drainage and water distribution, electrical power distribution, and lighting, as well as exterior trenching from the drilled well to the building and extending underground power distribution from the Shed Building to the Utility Building. These underground infrastructure connections may also be extended to the bordering ADA Cabin Building as a potential option, to be determined.

The American Heroes Flag Poles Foundation, honors the service and sacrifice of American combat veterans and wounded warriors. As the only full-time traditional wooden flagpole manufacturer in North America, they’ve pledged to donate and install 25-foot handcrafted Northern Red Oak flagpoles, complete with military ceremonies, to 20 deserving veterans each year. This heartfelt tribute, starting in the Northeastern United States, celebrates and acknowledges the long-overlooked honor of those who’ve bravely served our nation.

The college raised $600 for Homeward Bound Adirondacks through a pair of raffles leading up to Veterans Day! President Joe Keegan recently handed off the funds to Homeward Bound board member Amy Tuthill, the college’s associate director of recruitment and VA officer. The raffles, which included tickets to Army football and hockey games, were spearheaded by Kim Duffey, chair of our Business Program. The college also collected scores of items for veteran care packages and coordinated a letter-writing campaign to active duty members of our armed forces.
