Nature Retreat – Newcomb, NY
Homeward Bound Adirondacks invites you to join us for a private, three-day Veteran Nature Retreat in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains. This no-cost retreat is designed to provide veterans with an opportunity to step away from the stresses of everyday life, reconnect with nature, and spend time alongside fellow veterans who understand the unique challenges of military service.
Set among the peaceful forests and lakes of the Huntington Wildlife Forest, the retreat offers a welcoming environment where you can relax, reflect, and recharge. Whether you enjoy quiet time on the water, hiking forest trails, sharing stories around the campfire, or simply taking in the beauty of the Adirondacks, this weekend is about meeting you where you are. There are no expectations, no pressure, and no obligation to participate in anything beyond what feels right for you.
Priority registration will be given to veterans attending their first Homeward Bound Adirondacks retreat and to those who have never attended a retreat at Arbutus Great Camp. Veterans who have previously attended a retreat at this location are still encouraged to register and will be placed on a waiting list, as openings often become available due to cancellations.
There is no cost to attend. Once you arrive, lodging, meals, and all retreat activities are provided by Homeward Bound Adirondacks. Participants are responsible for their own transportation to and from the retreat. If you are able to offer another veteran a ride, or if you need transportation assistance, please let us know. We will do our best to connect veterans traveling from similar areas whenever possible.
Our retreats are built on trust, respect, and confidentiality. You’ll spend the weekend with fellow veterans in a safe, supportive environment where your privacy is always protected. Support is available throughout the retreat but is never forced. Whether you’re ready to talk, looking to build new friendships, or simply seeking peace and quiet in nature, you’ll be welcomed exactly as you are.
Our retreats are open to all veterans, regardless of era or branch of service. They are not limited to combat veterans. If you are living with PTSD, Military Sexual Trauma (MST), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), anxiety, depression, panic attacks, moral injury, or any other service-related challenge, you are welcome here. Sometimes the most important step is simply showing up.
We hope you’ll join us for a weekend of healing, fellowship, and renewal in one of the most beautiful places in New York.
Registration is required, and space is limited. RSVP NOW:
