Data Snapshot: Veteran Suicide in New York State (2022 Update)

A recent report by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs highlighted that New York State, home to over 580,000 military veterans, maintains one of the lowest veteran suicide rates in the nation. While this is an achievement worth celebrating, the battle is far from over. The same data also reveals that the suicide rate among veterans in our state has not improved over the past decade.
At Homeward Bound Adirondacks, we recognize the complexity of challenges our veterans face. That’s why we are committed to continuing our efforts in suicide prevention and mental health support through our various programs. From peer mentoring and crisis outreach to our therapeutic nature retreats, we strive to provide a haven of hope and healing. We are here because we believe in a future where every veteran feels supported and valued. Let’s keep pushing forward, together.
