The Abenaque Chapter 745, Order of the Eastern Star, from Long Lake, held a meeting at the Town Hall to honor local veterans. Shane Holmes from Homeward Bound Adirondacks and a resident of Long Lake. was the guest speaker, discussing their mission to support veterans through outdoor activities in the Adirondacks. Veterans from the American Legion posts in Long Lake and Indian Lake, along with other local veterans, attended the event. The Chapter collected and donated paper goods and food items. Monetary donations were given to the three attending veteran organizations. In addition, veterans from all military branches were recognized for their service.
