As the year comes to a close, Homeward Bound Adirondacks extends warm holiday wishes to all veterans, their families, and our dedicated staff, vendors, partners, and supporters who make this work possible. Your continued support allows us to provide meaningful, life-affirming experiences rooted in nature, community, and peer connection.

A Year of Healing Through Nature

2025 was a remarkable year for the Homeward Bound Adirondacks Nature Retreats Program. Despite several weather-related cancellations and unexpected challenges at our Camp Tamarack property, our team adapted and persevered—successfully hosting many veteran retreats throughout the year.

These retreats included four specialized programs tailored to the unique needs of veterans:

  • Couples Retreat

  • Female-Only Retreat

  • Backcountry Wilderness Paddle

  • Backcountry Wilderness Backpacking Trip

Our retreats took place across some of the Adirondacks’ most meaningful landscapes, including Piseco Lake, Blue Mountain Lake, Raquette Lake, the William C. Whitney Wilderness Area, and the Western High Peaks Wilderness. We also partnered with exceptional organizations to offer specialized experiences such as equine therapy in Saratoga.

Each retreat provided a safe, supportive environment where veterans could step away from daily stressors, reconnect with peers, and experience the restorative power of nature. These moments reinforce our belief that healing happens best when veterans are supported by both community and the natural world.

🎆 As we welcome 2026, we wish everyone a Happy New Year and look forward to another impactful year of serving veterans through nature-based healing, innovation, and connection. C U in 2026!
